Did you know? SF State has many prestigious alumni, one of whom is the actor and comedian, Dana Carvey. Made famous from his skits on Saturday Night Live (SNL), as well as his staring roles in films like Wayne’s World and Master of Disguise, Dana attended San Francisco State University and received his  undergraduate degree in Communication Arts. While attending SFSU he (unsurprisingly) won a standup comedy competition and was awarded his prize by a then local stand up comedian, Robin Williams. You can see in Dana in the photo above and (Robin in the background) at the standup competition from 1977. Dana proceeded to do standup around the Bay Area until he landed his spot on SNL.
